The
maritime industry is a strategic sector of the Galician economy. This is
largely due to the multitude of areas of which it is comprised - its commercial
and fishing ports; ships agents, freight forwarders and forwarding agents;
fishing vessel owners, fishing itself and its manufacturing industry;
aquaculture; shipyards and their auxiliary industry; and last but not least,
the merchant vessel owners.
