1.- ROPES PROJECT: FINAL TESTING PHASE

In the hope of creating safer navigation and an improved level of loading capacity, the ROPES (Research of Passing Effects on Ships) Joint Industry Project, which analyses the effect of passing ships on moored ships, has reached its final testing phase. The final full-scale tests began last week in Rotterdam, and Betchel believe that the results will lead to the drawing up of new design guidelines for ports and waterways.
